Capital Bee supporters
Whether you are a school, business, public institution, a community, or simply a group of like-mined individuals, you can begin to help London'd bees. Below are some statements of support from those that have begun to take practical steps.
Nick Mead, Director (and Capital Bee trainee beekeeper!)
@ Eden Caterers Ltd
“The whole ethos behind Eden is Sustainability, when we heard about the Capital Bee project we jumped at the chance to get involved. The Honey Bee is far more than just a producer of honey; they also play a massive part to our Eco system by pollinating a 1/3 of what we eat, not to mention what we wear! Bee’s also help to pollinate cotton!
The Capital Bee project is a marvellous way of helping the plight of these amazing insects and also bringing our communities together. Our project “Honey from Eden” will engage our staff and business neighbours at our premises in Lambeth, the main aim will be to share the knowledge of bees and beekeeping and of course…..the honey!”

Headteacher Charlton Manor Primary School, Greenwich
Capital Bee has really supported Charlton Manor Primary School in its vision to get youngsters to understand and support the honey bee. Our pupils are excited and engaged with bees and beekeeping. Capital Bee has raised the profile of this endangered species so that through sharing knowledge and understanding the honey bee, and all that rely on them, can have a secure future with communities producing the keepers of the future.

Jewish Community Centre, London
For generations, the new Jewish year has been greeted with apple and honey, symbolising the hope for a sweet year ahead. Last year we had an idea to inspire a network of 200 hives in the Jewish community that would provide this honey. A chance to engage in a Jewish activity, whatever one’s level of practice or involvement. People learning from one another. An opportunity to welcome guests to synagogues, schools, other community spaces and people’s homes.
The Capital Bee project has been a wonderful catapult for our project, providing the opportunities for the first people to learn practical beekeeping, and to share this experience with others. We’re learning how to incorporate bee spaces in new buildings and engaging across the community.
