Capital Growth is organising a series of training sessions designed to help those running or interested in setting up a food growing project. Pick from a number of courses to help you with the project management of the site, including managing volunteers, fundraising and more.
Upcoming short workshop sessions
Finding and managing your volunteers
Monday 13th May 10:30am-1pm
During this session we will explore different ways to find volunteers in your area to work in your food growing project. We will also go through volunteer management and good practices that make volunteering an enjoyable experience for both sides.
Designing and delivering food growing sessions to children and young people
Friday 21st June 10:30am-1pm
This session is designed for everyone working with children and young people - both in and outside of schools. It is less suitable for qualified teachers. We will go through the main considerations for delivering successful sessions, including the principles of planning lessons and courses. You will have a chance to design your own sessions and share ideas around good practice.
Training techniques: delivering a successful food growing workshop
Friday 28th June 10:30am-5pm
In this day course our expert trainer will provide advices to help you create a successful food growing training workshop while keeping your own style. The session includes exchange between all participants, tips to get messages through and the chance to hold your own small workshop and test your ideas.

Our Growing Leaders training is being delivered in partnership with the Big Dig programme, funded by the Social Action Fund and Mayor of London. We will be recruiting for more Growing Leaders later in the year.
