New report on benefits of gardening and mental health
A new study that reviews the benefits and outcomes of approaches to green care for mental ill-health has been published by Natural England.
The report further reinforces the benefits of gardening in contributing to a reduction in levels of anxiety, stress, and depression and suggests that green care interventions can provide an increasingly important and cost-effective way of supporting mental health.services. This supports the Growing Health's call for the NHS to commission more food growing projects as a way to improve patient and puiblic health outcomes.
The full report can be read on the Natural England website.
