About us
We support people to grow food in London, whether at home, on allotments or as part of a community group.
Capital Growth is London's largest food growing network, with over 2,000 gardens throughout the city. We offer in-kind support to people who grow their own food in London, including access to discounted training, networking events and discounts on equipment. Joining our network is free and new ideas or offers of support are always most welcome.
Capital Growth was founded in 2008 where it's initial mission was to support the creation of 2,012 new community food growing spaces across London by the end of 2012.
Since then it has evolved to support not just new spaces, but the people who make these incredible food growing spaces possible. We provide resources, knowledge sharing and resources to help them maintain and expand their work to benefit a wider diversity of people. We champion food growing spaces that are nature-friendly, climate resilient and inclusive and build evidence to commuicate the value of urban food growing for health, wellbeing, climate, behaviour change and community cohesion.
We work with councils to identify more land for growing and greening, and work to bring councils together with grassroots groups to work collaboratively.
Capital Growth is supported by the Mayor of London and City Bridge Foundation and championed by the Chair of the London Food Board, Rosie Boycott.
